Rick Nichols
RICK NICHOLS has held a deep fascination for Feudal Japan and the code of bushido that guided the samurai since
childhood. For Rick, writing was always just a hobby until college, when he got the idea for a character named John Logan—
an ex-spy turned private detective. That spurred him to begin to really learn the craft of storytelling.

Rick has served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman, and is a graduate of Glenville State College, the Ft Leonard Wood
Law Enforcement Academy, and a couple of things that he can’t talk about. He holds a belt in Ko Setumi Sei Kan karate and
has also studied Aikido, Judo, Kung Fu, and even aki-bujutsu—the original unarmed combat taught to the ancient samurai.

SEAN ELLIS enjoys a lifelong love affair with adventure. His early years were spent emulating Tom Sawyer (though he
campaigned for the role of Huck Finn in a grade school production thereof) on the banks of the Siletz River in Oregon. As a
teenager, he pursued an elusive pirate legend and combed the Pacific coast for buried treasure. He has searched for
Mayan ruins in the jungles of Honduras and chased after the Golden City of Cibola in the American Southwest. Sean enjoys
adventure racing, competitive mountain biking and has competed in several off-road triathlons. He is also a decorated
combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan 2006-2007) where among other duties performed, he played
chauffeur to filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) during the filming of the documentary Where in the World is
Osama bin Laden. If you look real close, you may catch a glimpse. Sean now resides in Anchorage where he is currently
seeking a degree in Natural Resources conservation, and daily experiences his greatest adventure: fatherhood. His novel
